Apple mans, named Mangifera, is an evergreen tree of Mangifera in Cruciferae, with a height of 10-20m. Bark grayish brown, branchlets brown, glabrous. Leaves are thin and leathery, often clustered at the top of branches, and the shape and size of leaves vary greatly, usually rectangular or oblong-lanceolate. Drupe is large, kidney-shaped, yellow at maturity, fleshy, plump, bright yellow, sweet and hard.
It is found in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian and Taiwan Province provinces, and in hillsides, river valleys or wild forests at an altitude of 200-1350m. India, Bengal, zhina Peninsula and Malaysia. This species is widely cultivated at home and abroad, and has bred more than 100 varieties, including more than 40 varieties in China alone.
