The 25 stars required for the Gold Card are counted from the enrollment date and are valid for one year. Because each year you need to add at least 25 new stars to qualify for the Gold Card, the previous ones will be cleared.
On each account anniversary of your StarElite Club account, the complimentary stars in your account will expire and the number of stars will be zeroed out.
On each account anniversary date, your Star Clubs account will be verified to see if you have added at least 25 Stars in the 12 months prior to that account anniversary date. If the system confirms that you have added at least 25 stars to your Star Clubs account, you will be able to maintain your Gold level membership for the next 12 months.
How to maintain Gold status:
On each account anniversary of your StarElite Club account, the system will check the number of Stars in the account, and if the number of Stars is greater than or equal to 25, the account will be able to retain the Gold status for 1 year. Please see the following example:
On March 10, 2014, Xiao Zhao successfully registered as a member;
On July 19, 2014, Xiao Zhao successfully accumulated 25 stars and was upgraded to a Gold Star member;
On March 10, 2015, the system checked the number of stars in Xiao Zhao's account to be greater than 25 stars, and Xiao Zhao was able to continue to retain his Gold Star level for 1 year.
March 10, 2015 - March 9, 2016, Xiao Zhao is still a gold star member, you can continue to enjoy all the gold star gifts;
March 10, 2016, the system checks the number of stars in Xiao Zhao's account. If the number of stars is greater than or equal to 25, Xiao Zhao can continue to retain the Gold Star membership level for 1 year. If the number of stars is less than 25, then Xiao Zhao's membership level drops to Silver Star.

Multiple StarElite Cards
Multiple StarElite Cards can be associated with the same StarElite Club account. If you already have a Star Club account, you can associate your newly purchased StarCard to your existing Star Club account for easier management and use of the card, and the new card benefits will be added to your existing account.
Active and Dormant Cards
If you have more than one StarEntry Card associated with your Star Club account, please use your active StarEntry Card under that Star Club account ("Active Card") when making purchases at Starbucks stores. Please note that you may only select one StarCard as the active card in your account at any one time.
What cannot be credited to your Star Clubs Account for the purpose of accumulating Stars:
Purchases of Star Gift Cards (including reloading Star Gift Cards), Starbucks: Gift Certificates, and Redemption Vouchers are not eligible to be credited to your Star Clubs Account.
Amounts for bulk purchases that enjoy special offers or discounts, such as mooncakes and Star Ice Dumplings, cannot be credited to the Star Club account.
When purchasing prepaid card vouchers (except StarElite e-redemption vouchers) at Starbucks Tmall Flagship Store or on the StarSpeak platform, the purchase amount cannot be credited to the StarElite Club account, but when using the above prepaid card vouchers to purchase or redeem products at Starbucks stores, the corresponding purchase amount can be credited to the StarElite Club account.
Purchasing a StarElite eRedeemer coupon and redeeming it at Starbucks Tmall Flagship Store will not be credited to the StarElite Club account.
A complimentary beverage of any kind (e.g., a beverage you receive through a credit card "buy one get one free" promotion, a credit card points redemption program, or a redemption voucher) is not considered a purchase and will not accrue Stars in your Star Club account.
