Film Review "Kung Fu Chef God"
As far as the story is concerned, Yongjian Ye obviously didn't try to surpass earlier films of the same type, such as Man-Han Banquet and Happy Ever After, but it was just a well-performed script. The focus of this film falls entirely on the action part. Three generations of action actors, Wu Zongxian, supported the most interesting scenes in this film. Although there is no Yuan Heping, Yuan Jiaban's strength in action design cannot be ignored. As a martial art, Yuan Xiangren and Yuan Xinyi's handling of multi-stage battles, such as solo and hand-to-hand combat, is impeccable. Although a little lack of originality, their lively index and entertainment are not bad. Unfortunately, Yongjian Ye didn't make good use of this raw material. He thinks that drama and literary drama are very irrelevant, and basically they don't give much impetus to the plot, just for fighting. In addition, China's traditional delicacies are vividly displayed in front of the audience through the lens, which should also be a selling point. But the film's presentation of cooking is far less exquisite than the action design (Tencent Entertainment Review).
