Bo's giant catfish farming in Vietnam is mainly concentrated in the Mekong River delta, the depth of the breeding ponds in 4-5 meters, the use of pure feeding of the intensive breeding mode, more than 8 taels on the market, can be raised twice a year. The common marketing specification is 0.8-1.0 kg/tail. There are fewer diseases during the culture of this fish, and even no need for oxygenation equipment, running water culture or 20-30% water change every day. The yield can be up to 23-27 tons/mu.
Environmental organizations have questioned the ecosystem in which the Boeuf's catfish is raised. Captive bred Boobie catfish have the potential to contaminate ecosystems as well as wild species. Asda and Tesco in the UK have also done tests on the Bo's catfish but found no signs of any toxic substances accumulating in the fish. But AQIS tests found peacock green in the bodies of Bo's catfish, but no other contaminants were found either.
