Pitaya varies in size and thickness. A small pitaya has only 25 calories, while a bowl of normal-sized home-cooked rice has nearly 200 calories, which is eight times as much. But if it is a slightly larger pitaya, it is not much different from the heat of a bowl of rice. In fact, pitaya is a low-calorie fruit with far less calories than rice.
On the other hand, the pulp of pitaya contains almost no other sugar, mainly glucose which is naturally suitable for human absorption. However, because it contains neither organic acids nor lipid aromatic factors, and has no taste that can stimulate human senses, it is in an embarrassing situation of "neither delicious nor unpalatable".
