Cocoa trees usually grow in tropical climate, and the suitable growth temperature is 20℃~30℃. The climate in East Africa Plateau is changeable, with high altitude and relatively low temperature, which is not suitable for the growth of cocoa trees. However, it is still possible to obtain a certain yield by planting in areas with lower altitude and warmer climate and taking certain control measures.

In recent years, with the climate change and scientific and technological progress, some areas began to try to plant cocoa trees in high altitude areas, and achieved certain results. For example, some areas in Kenya, Tanzania and other countries have begun to plant cocoa trees, and many explorations and improvements have been made in variety selection and management technology. Therefore, if conditions permit, we can try to plant cocoa trees in the plateau area of East Africa, and make appropriate adjustments and innovations in combination with the local climate and cultivation techniques.
