Because the external ice is obviously heated, the ice cubes melt faster and the meat is easy to cook, while the external crab meat will be steamed for too long, resulting in the water in the protein flowing away with the melting of the ice, thus making the crab meat old and tasteless. Therefore, the crabs must be thawed before steaming, and then boiled after thawing.
Crab preservation method
Because it is a freshwater crab, soak it in water for a while before putting it in the refrigerator, let the crab absorb enough water before putting it in the basin, cover the surface with a wet cloth, and then put it in the refrigerator for preservation. If it is not frozen, the frozen crab will die. Take it out every two days, soak it in water for about half an hour, and then keep it fresh in the refrigerator for seven days.
Cover the surface with a wet cloth or towel, so as to ensure a humid environment, and crabs will be comfortable inside. Another way is to wrap it in newspaper and put it in the refrigerator. Don't get wet with crabs, they are fresh for a week. This is what a friend who keeps crabs told me. Both methods are practical and can be chosen according to your own needs.
