"Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", referred to as "Liao Zhai" and commonly known as "The Legend of Ghost Fox", is a collection of short stories in classical Chinese written by Pu Songling, a famous novelist in the Qing Dynasty. There are 491 short stories in the whole book (Zhang Youhe's "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" and Zhu Qikai's "New Annotated Edition of Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" are 494 short stories).
