Time and method of plum tree grafting (time and method of plum tree grafting? Spring)
1. If you want to graft plum trees, it is recommended that it be around July. Because the temperature is suitable at this time, the new buds can grow faster after grafting. Moreover, the activity of the plant is also high at this time, and the new buds can adapt to the rootstock and survive faster after grafting.

2. Grafting method:

Obtaining scions: selecting well-growing plum trees, selecting relatively strong branches, and cutting new buds from them. Then cut it to 5-7cm and leave 2-3 new buds on it. Then you need to cut the bottom of it into a wedge with a thick side and a thin side.

Rootstock treatment: plum, peach or cherry trees with good growth conditions are selected and sawed off from 6- 10cm above the ground as rootstocks.

Grafting: cut a hole about 3cm deep on the cross section of the rootstock with a knife, then insert the cut scion with the bottom down into the wound of the rootstock and wrap it with plastic strips.

Post-curing: slowly cure for a period of time after connection. If it rains, keep out the rain in time and don't let it flow into the interface. After a period of time, the new buds will survive and start to grow.
