The yellow lacewood is a deciduous tree with opposite growing leaves. In the fall, there are many orange-yellow or crimson leaves fall. It likes warm and humid environment, strong ability of environmental suitability, long growth cycle. It is mainly distributed in Lushui of Yunnan, Chashu of Tibet, Ganzi of Sichuan, Chunhua of Qinghai, Tianshui of Gansu and Fuxian of Shaanxi. Its wood properties are very good, suitable for furniture, art carving and so on. Its leaves are opposite or subopposite, and their stalks are 1 to 2 millimeters long. The leaves are reddish in early spring and fade to a deep red or orange-yellow in the fall.
The yellow ligustrum prefers to grow in warm, moist environments and is not very strict about soil requirements. It has a large root system, is drought-resistant, and is very wind-resistant. It grows very slowly, usually takes decades or even hundreds of years to grow into a large tree, but at the same time, it is also extremely long-lived, up to 300 years or more.
It is mainly distributed in China's Yunnan Lushui, Tibet Tsatsumi, Sichuan Ganzi, Qinghai Chunhua, Gansu Tianshui, Shaanxi Fuxian, Shanxi Yangcheng, Hebei Wanxian, Beijing, south of this line, the line north of less distribution. The color of its bark is generally dark brown, such as scale-like. Its fruit is purplish red, with high oil content, which can be used to extract oil, and the quality of the oil is quite good.
It is hard wood, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, beautiful texture, very suitable for use as building materials, artistic carving, furniture materials. It is an excellent ornamental tree species, generally common in various gardens, has a certain ornamental value. It can also be used as roadside trees on both sides of the road as well as greening species for forestation of barren mountains.
