Kagoshima Prefecture is located at the southernmost tip of Kyushu, and hot springs are one of the prides of Kagoshima Prefecture. There is a popular saying in Japan, "Drink three times, bathe three times." A bath in a hot spring is usually once before dinner, which can wash away the fatigue of the day; once after dinner, you can have a good sleep; and once in the morning. It can increase energy and physical strength.
The symbol of Kagoshima is the majestic "Sakurajima" that stands behind the main street.
Sakurajima is an active volcano that still regularly erupts on a small scale, and volcanic ash may fall even during periods of non-eruption. In addition, there are many active volcanoes such as Mount Kirishima at the junction of Kagoshima Prefecture and Miyazaki Prefecture and Kuchierabu Island, which was born due to volcanic eruption. There are many "hot springs" produced by volcanoes here, and there are also specialties such as Sakurajima daikon and Sakurajima oranges grown using volcanic ash. It can be said that the lives of Kagoshima people are inseparable from these volcanoes.
