Founding History Wang Ting'an (1891-1966), the founder of Wang Xing Ji, whose courtesy name was Chunhe, was born in Tangtou, Beimenwai, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Tangtou was rich in silk thread for sewing clothes, and every household made a living by raising silkworms and making threads.
The Wang family is very poor. They only have 3 acres of barren land and cannot make a living.
Wang Ting'an had no choice but to go to Wuxi to make a living, first cooking in a pawn shop. Wang Ting'an went to private school for a year and a half and became somewhat educated. He especially liked eating wontons since he was very young. He also liked to watch wonton stalls and shops making wontons.
Because his father cooks in Shanghai, and my brother-in-law cooks in Xifu, a wealthy family in Wuxi, he has had this spirituality since he was a child and is particularly easy to study.
His wife, Mrs. Zhou, is from Lihuazhuang, Beimen, Wuxi, where wild rice is abundant. She has been doing the fried dough sticks business with her parents in Wuxi since she was very young.
Because of Wang Ting'an's stubborn temper, he often had conflicts with the pawnshop owner.
So he quit his job as a cook in a pawnshop and, with the help of his wife, set up his own wonton stall.
At that time, there was only one stove and a few door panels, and it was a very simple wonton stall.
But Wang Ting'an was very discerning and set up this stall at the entrance of Sheng Lane, where there are more pedestrians and is close to the park and Chong'an Temple.
Many people who pass by nearby will patronize this small wonton stall, so business is good.
In 1922, Wang Ting'an officially opened a wonton shop on the north side of Gongyuan Road and south of the park, named it: Wang Xingji.
When it first opened, it had only four counters. In addition to selling wontons, it also sold steamed buns (baozi).
As a result, Wang Xingji became famous, and everyone in Wuxi, Suzhou, and Shanghai knew it.
Store opening in Japan In September 2011, the century-old brand "Wang Xingji"'s first directly-operated store in Japan will officially open to the public in Ebina City, Japan.
Master Zhou, who was directly dispatched by Wuxi "Wang Xingji", arrived in Japan for the second time to make final preparations for the opening.
This is not only the first step for "Wang Xingji" to take the initiative to "go abroad", but also the "first fruit" of the sister city activities carried out by Wuxi and Sagamihara City in Japan for many years.
In fact, Wang Xingji was invited out of the country.
As a "Japanese capital highland", Wuxi has attracted many Japanese to come to Wuxi. Wang Xingji's special snacks such as steamed dumplings and wontons, as well as traditional Wuxi dishes, enjoy a high reputation in the minds of some Japanese people. Some people who have tasted Wang Xingji's snacks
The Japanese were full of praise.
In 2007, two "clone versions" of Wang Xingji opened in Yokohama, Japan, at the Chinese Food Street. Even the signboards and decorations were very similar, and a related website was even launched.
These two "pirated" Wang Xingji stores operated by Japanese people sell dim sum products similar to Wuxi Wang Xingji Xiao Long Bao, wontons and other snack products without authorization, and they use the Wang Xingji banner.
Wuxi Wang Xingji Company entrusted a lawyer to send legal letters to the two Japanese stores.
For the sake of a win-win situation, Wuxi Wang Xingji finally decided to resolve the matter in a peaceful way, and finally decided that "Wang Xingji" in Yokohama would officially become a franchise store of Wuxi Wang Xingji in Japan, and could use the "Wang Xingji" trade name, trademark, and online name in Japan.
