Allusions about Su Shi’s life

1. Leizhou West Lake Leizhou West Lake in Guangdong was originally called Luohu. It was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. After the great writer Su Shi and his brothers took a drunken tour here, Luohu was renamed West Lake.

In the seventh year of Shaosheng's reign in the Song Dynasty, Su Shi was demoted from Huizhou to Danzhou. He traveled thousands of miles and passed through Leizhou. He was fortunate enough to meet his brother Su Zhe, who was demoted to Leizhou. It was a mixture of sadness and joy.

The brothers chose a day to go boating in Luohu. They were attracted by the beautiful scenery of Luohu and couldn't bear to return. After the tour, they went to the Tianning Zen Temple on the lakeside to rest. They were still very interested in visiting Suzhou. The four words "No. 1 in Wanshan" were written here and now.

That’s it.

2. Cheng Su grudged Sima Guang in the first year of Yuanyou (1086), the first year of Emperor Zhezong of the Song Dynasty. Sima Guang passed away. The ministers were holding a memorial ceremony in the Mingtang and were unable to make a drink offering. As soon as the ceremony was completed, the ministers wanted to rush to mourn, but Cheng Yi stopped everyone and said

Confucius said, "If you cry on this day, you will not sing." After attending the Mingtang ceremony, one should not mourn the family again.

Everyone thought this was unkind and retorted, "If you cry, you won't sing" does not mean "If you sing, you won't cry."

Su Shi laughed at Cheng Yi and said, "This is in vain for the etiquette formulated by Shusun Tong in the market." This was the beginning of the feud between Su Shi and Cheng Yi.

On a national death day, ministers went to Xiangguo Temple to pray for Buddha. Cheng Yi asked for a vegetarian diet. Su Shi asked: "Uncle Zheng (Cheng Yi's cousin), don't you dislike Buddhism? Why do you want to eat vegetarian food?" Cheng Yi said: "Etiquette."

"You should not drink alcohol or eat meat during the mourning; the anniversary of death is the continuation of the funeral." Su Shi sang the opposite: "People who support the Liu family should show their left arms!" (Using an allusion from historical records, Su Shi compared himself to Zhou Bo, the Taiwei of the Han Dynasty.

For example, he called the Lu family a rebel and asked everyone to support him.) Fan Chunfu and others eat vegetarian food, while Qin Guan, Huang Tingjian and others eat meat.

3. In the fourth year of Yuanyou (1089) when Su Di was built, Su Shi was appointed as the bachelor of Longtuge and learned about Hangzhou.

Since the West Lake has not been dredged for a long time, more than half of it has been silted up. "The flat lake in Kuangtai has been overgrown for a long time, and the people are still withering after years of prosperity." The lake gradually dried up and the lake was covered with weeds, which seriously affected agricultural production.

The second year after Su Shi came to Hangzhou, he led a crowd to dredge the West Lake.

More than 200,000 migrant workers were mobilized to fire Fengtian, restore the old view, and build three pagodas (today's Three Ponds Reflecting the Moon) in the deepest part of the lake as a symbol.

He gathered the excavated silt and built a long embankment across the West Lake. The embankment was connected by six bridges for pedestrians. Later generations named it "Sugong Embankment", or "Su Embankment" for short.

Su Shi built three embankments in his life.

When Su Shi was demoted to Yingzhou (now Fuyang, Anhui), Yingzhou West Lake was also dredged and embankments built.

In the first year of Shaosheng (1094), Su Shi was demoted to deputy envoy of Yuanning Army and resettled in Huizhou (now Huiyang, Guangdong).

Su Shi, who was nearly sixty years old, traveled thousands of miles to the demolition office day and night, and was warmly welcomed by the people of Lingnan.

4. Su Shi practiced calligraphy. Su Shi and Huang Tingjian spent one day admiring paintings. It was interesting to see the inscription above: the gentle breeze brings thin willows, and the pale moon brings plum blossoms.

It looks like a four-character couplet, but there is an empty word in the middle. Someone suggested adding words in the middle to make it a five-character couplet.

Huang Tingjian's answer is: the thin willows dance in the breeze, and the plum blossoms are hidden in the pale moon.

Su Shi thought for a moment and responded immediately, filling in words to make it: The gentle breeze supports the thin willows, and the pale moon loses the plum blossoms.

Looking at the couplets between the two, Su Shi is the most wonderful: the word "help" not only writes the gentleness of the wind and the delicacy of the willows, but also writes the intimacy between the wind and the willows, making it more vivid;

The word "hidden" is appropriate. It not only emphasizes the brightness of the moonlight, but also takes into account the cleanliness of the plum blossoms. It highlights the scene where the two merge into one color, which is more consistent and appropriate.

5. Rice and rice? After Su Shi returned to office, he once talked to Huang Tingjian: "When I was in prison, I ate three white rice every day, and it was still very sweet. The most delicious food in the world is nothing more than this!".

Huang Tingjian curiously asked what three white rice was, and Su Shi replied: "A pinch of salt, a plate of raw radish, and a bowl of rice, this is the 'three white rice'." Su Shi forgot about this.

One day, I received an invitation from Huang Tingjian, inviting Su Shi to his home for a meal.

Su Shi happily accepted the appointment and said to his wife: "Huang Tingjian was a scholar of the time and read a lot. His white rice must be a rare thing. But when Su Shi arrived at the place and found that there were only salt, radish and rice on the table, he suddenly realized that

Knowing that Huang Tingjian was teasing him, a few days later, Huang Tingjian also received an invitation from Su Shi, inviting him to have a cuì meal. Huang Tingjian knew that Su Shi wanted to take revenge, but he was curious and wanted to know what cuì meal was.

Finally, we went. Su Shi chatted with Huang Tingjian from morning to night, and Huang Tingjian was so hungry that he couldn't help but ask: "Salt is not enough."

(pronounced mǎo, meaning "without"), the radish is also hairy, and the rice is also hairy, wouldn't it mean that the rice is '毳'?

In fact, you have been enjoying it.

"After Huang Tingjian was shocked, the two of them laughed at the same time.
