In fact, during the entire trip to southern Xinjiang, the beautiful scenery began to arrive after leaving Kashgar.
The beautiful scenery along this road makes me believe that it should be one of the most beautiful self-driving roads in the world!
To read the previous guide, click here Kashgar 24 Hours travels south from Kashgar, which is 1,298 meters above sea level, passing through mountains and rivers, forests and grasslands, lakes and snow-capped mountains, and finally arrives at Taxkorgan County (Taxian County for short), which is about 3,200 meters above sea level. The scenery along the way is quite shocking.
It can be said that this is definitely one of the most beautiful self-driving routes in the world.
(Practical travel tips are attached at the end of the article) DAY 01 Kashgar - Taxkorgan County Lao Zhang, who has been to the Pamir Plateau eight times, urged us to get on the road as soon as possible. It takes about 6 hours to drive from Kashgar to Taxkorgan County, and we have to eat at a hand-made restaurant on the way.
It’s an old restaurant, and you’ll encounter a lot of beautiful scenery on the way, so you have to set aside two or three hours of play time.
It gets late in the morning in Xinjiang, so we set off after 10 o'clock under the morning glow.
An hour and a half later, we started lunch at the New Aijir Gourmet Restaurant next to National Highway 314 in Shufu County.
This restaurant is not famous, but it has Lao Zhang’s feelings. He said that every time he comes to southern Xinjiang, he will eat hand-picked rice here before going out. He can still recall the happiness of eating his hand-made rice for the first time.
.
The restaurant is full of locals. Two barbecues, a bowl of broth, and a hand-made rice, paired with mint tea, are enough.
It is worth boasting that the hand-picked rice here is really delicious.
New Aijir Food Address: Next to National Highway 314 in Shufu County Phone: 13999083848 After getting on the bus, we started climbing all the way. The landscape of mountains and rivers will appear in front of us. First we will encounter the red mountains at the entrance of Oytag Glacier.
Because you can see the Muztag Peak if you drive further, you and your friends gave up on the Oytag Glacier, took some photos and continued on the road.
When my breathing started to become short, a huge blue lake appeared in front of me. The white sand dunes and the lake in the distance formed a very special landscape. This is the most iconic landscape of this trip, Baisha Lake.
The white sand dunes and the blue lake water naturally blend together, making people want to have fun and take photos here. However, the cold wind by the lake quickly takes away the body heat, and various states of altitude sickness will soon occur.
Return to the car.
After the trip, I was watching TV at home one day and discovered that an advertisement for a certain car brand actually used this place as a location.
When we reached Karakul Lake, the sky cleared up, and Muztagh Peak in the distance gradually revealed its true appearance. Blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, and lakes. This configuration is the easiest for people to get up, and the excitement of the journey comes directly.
Looking at the Muztagh Peak in front of me, I remembered that many years ago when I first started playing outdoors, my friends said they wanted to climb it. They kept repeating the name of this mountain. At that time, it planted a seed in my heart.
, finally met after many years.
After leaving Karakul Lake, we went straight to Taxkorgan County. Finally, after 9 hours, we arrived at the hotel in Taxkorgan County before dark.
However, this hotel called "Hot Spring" does not have hot springs. I made a video about this, which you can use as a reference for accommodation.
After settling in, we went to have dinner. During the National Day, the restaurant obviously did not have that strong reception capacity. I had a beef hotpot with my friends, but no one ate beef because the water on the plateau cannot be boiled, even those who have never stuffed their teeth.
The little friends were all stuck in the shredded meat.
DAY 02 Visiting Guli’s house. When he arrived in Ta County, Lao Zhang said he wanted to visit a local’s house, because only by integrating into the local life can he better experience the local customs.
Before I came as a guest, my friend repeatedly reminded me that the people living in Tajik County are mainly Tajiks, not Uyghurs. I hope I won’t get confused.
