Hand-drawn illustrations_106 | A simple way to quickly pick up Japanese hot pot in 10 minutes

Hi, friends, the seventh issue of zero-based illustration learning is about Japanese style Hot pot, that is, the way food is drawn. Pick up your paintbrush and paint with me.

Step1: Draw the hot pot bowl, two large circles, paint them flat, stack them, and add two small ears.

Step2: Draw the lotus root piece, paint a small circle flatly, use the eraser to make 6 large holes in the middle, adjust the brush size small, draw the small hole in the center, deepen the color, and add shadow details .

Step3: Draw the stuffed winter melon (hehe, I actually don’t know what it is, but it looks delicious, emmm~)

Step4: Draw the small mushrooms with different shades Use two layers of color to increase the sense of hierarchy.

Step5: Draw the shrimp. I don’t think it looks like it when I draw it, but it is still very tempting when I draw it. Is there any problem? You don’t need to draw the tail too thin, because the back will be blocked by other food.

Step6: Draw two pieces of peas with rich colors. If you like, you can draw more pieces according to the situation.

Step7: Draw fish tofu, my favorite fish tofu, but the color selection is not very good, and the three-dimensional effect is not drawn.

Step8: Draw two quail eggs. Generally, the quail eggs in hot pot are whole. If you draw them cut, they will be more beautiful and easy to understand. It is mainly based on personal preference.

Step9: Draw a few slices of vegetables and some leaf veins to make them look better, emmm, it seems that cooked vegetables don’t look like this, hee hee, just to look good~

Step10: These salmon sushi It looks very tempting and delicious, what do you think?

Step11: Draw the crab stick~emmmm, it doesn’t seem like a crab stick. emmm~ I also worked hard to add some meat, which seems to reveal the nature of a foodie~

Step12: This kind of shiitake mushroom is different from the previous small mushroom, hehe, it looks better and looks delicious. ~

Step13: Draw two layers of noodles, one layer each of dark and light colors. I feel that the color selection is not very good, emmmm, I am satisfied if it looks a bit like it~

Step14: Draw the seasonings you like to embellish, such as red for chili powder, black for pepper, and green. It’s chopped green onion, and there are others, everyone can use it freely.

In fact, when I first started drawing, some of the food was not drawn enough, but later I adjusted the plating and added more. In short, it depends on personal preference. In this issue, learn some details, such as the shape, arrangement, and color matching of food, which all need to be conceived. Because it involves a lot of food, I practiced it intermittently for two nights and one day during my lunch break. The result is a bit rough, but I believe I will be able to draw better in the future.

Hand-drawn pictures with colored pencils

Draw a corner with colored pencils A simple illustration: Preparation work, sharpen colored pencils, prepare a 0.5 and 0.7 mechanical pencil, a black pen or gel pen, thicker and more delicate sketch paper or sketch book, and a compass.

Ready for use.

Take out the compass and put the pencil lead in place.

Use a compass to draw a circle of the size you want on sketch paper or picture books.

If you use A4 size paper, it is recommended to leave a distance of about 2cm between the top edge of the circle and the edge of the paper.

Use a mechanical pencil to draft within the circle.

Draw the picture you want based on the actual object or a copy.

Be sure to write lightly to facilitate revision.

Then use a pen or neutral line to draw the outline.

The lines should be smooth, even and beautiful.

I like to apply a light color to my peonies first.

The coloring method is to use maroon or rose red colored pencils to darken the color from the root of the petals, and then gradually lighten the color at the edge, so that the color will have a gradient effect, with a strong three-dimensional sense and a sense of hierarchy.

Use dark green, light green, and lake blue colored pencils to color the leaves.

The color is darker near the main stem. The roots of each leaf are dark green with a little blue, and the tips of the leaves are lightly painted with a little earthy yellow.

Let colors have gradient and transition effects.

Make the picture more beautiful.

Finally, use an eraser to erase the remaining lines and embellish them.

The beautiful peony pen pastel painting will appear before your eyes.

END Notes: When drawing a draft, write lightly.

It is too heavy and difficult to correct and erase misaligned pencil lines.

The simplest sketch of food painting

It is relatively simple to grasp the main physical characteristics and use the simplest lines to outline.

When sketching, you must grasp the contrast between highlights and dark parts, and you can divide areas for drawing.

You can read sketch books.

My personal understanding is that you are not asked to highlight every point. Only the most prominent features are the most important.

Hope this helps.

I have completed 4 illustrations in the food series. When I drew them, they were all foods I wanted to eat. Many of the details were rough and the shapes were uneven. Many times, I have absolutely no confidence in my paintings and feel that I have not made any progress. However, a few days ago, these paintings were accidentally recommended to the homepage by the official operation of Maimai. I am very surprised and grateful that my paintings can be recommended by others. Definitely, I am really happy, and I have the motivation to continue painting, so I decided to do a review after finishing each series and share it with my friends who love painting. I also think about where I still have shortcomings. I hope I can Make progress together with friends who like to draw.

1. Painting process

Painting tools: computer PS, hand-drawn tablet

Brush: hard edge pressure opacity (line drawing), soft oil crayon (coloring), fine chalk and chalk (projection texture)

2. Sharing of ideas

This series of paintings are all about food, which is what I like to eat, so what are I painting? I did not spend too much time and found a lot of related materials, taking one of them as an example.

Because the painting was about ramen, I found ramen-related side dishes and some fruits, replaced the elements in the original picture, and then combined and arranged them. The composition of this series is from a top-down perspective. , so when looking for materials, I tried my best to find pictures with the same perspective; for color matching, I found an ice cream color card on the petal website. I thought it was very small and fresh. At first, I absorbed its color, but found that the color was too light, and then I also think that when people find this food delicious in daily life, the first thing they see is the color. The brighter the color of the food, the more people will want to eat it, so I chose colors with high brightness and high saturation. After matching, the final effect is not bad.

The few elements to complete an illustration are nothing more than: composition reference, character or object reference, color matching reference, plus your own understanding and control of the picture, which is the reference of technique. In the illustration, these are all mutually exclusive, and every step must be taken seriously.

3. Personal insights

Drawing illustrations is often closely related to our lives. Many references come from our lives. Observe the things around you and draw them. Just keep it in your mind and have an impression; also bring a small notebook with you at all times to record your inspiration. Since I started working as a full-time illustrator, when I pass by a good-looking store or flower shop, I will subconsciously think about their decoration style, color matching, placement of objects, etc., so that I can have a deep understanding of the things around me. You can also exercise your thinking, observe life, and observe the world. You will re-examine your relationship with the world, and then find your own illustration language.

When I first started learning illustration, I would always go into blind alleys unconsciously. When I saw other people’s paintings well, I would always compare them and wonder why I didn’t make any progress? This feeling is very disturbing. It’s easy to put yourself on the edge of collapse, and it’s easy to give up on painting. Later, I gradually understood that everyone’s starting point and rhythm are different. We only need to compare ourselves with ourselves, as long as we are a little better than ourselves yesterday. , which is also a great encouragement.

The meaning of painting itself is not to compare with others. This process is a process of dialogue with oneself. Being yourself is a rare happiness in life

Finally, I hope to be able to work with friends who like painting. Grow up together, if you like it, please leave a like
