Levin Township is located in the east of Shunchang County, with a land area of 236.5 square kilometers. It governs 13 administrative villages and 1 thoroughbred farm with a total population of 22,1. It has a mild climate and abundant rainfall throughout the year, with a forest coverage rate of over 75%. Since ancient times, it has been the central producing area of Chinese fir and the most suitable area of Phyllostachys pubescens in China, and is known as the "inexhaustible Chinese fir in Levin". In addition, the territory is rich in mineral resources, with streams all over the country, including iron ore, lead-zinc mine, chalcopyrite, Mohist mine, purple shale and granite. The clear Levin Creek flows like a bright jade belt across the township, with a water conservancy and electric power resource reserve of 8, kilowatts, which has great development potential. At present, the township has built seven small hydropower stations along the Levin River, with an annual power generation of 6 million kWh.
