A lot of efforts have been made to develop tourism.
Most of the places of interest in Chaozhou, like those across the country, are dotted with couplets.
Couplets are an independent literary and artistic style in our country. Good couplets, like other excellent literary and artistic works, can add beauty to the country and the scenic spots.
The more famous scenic spots in Chaozhou are "Xiangzi Bridge" and "Han Wengong Temple".
During the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, the prefect Wang Yuan renovated the pavilions on the bridge when he was building the bridge. Each of the new watchtowers has its own characteristics and has couplets. For example, the left and right pavilions of the Curling Tower have a couplet.
Coupon on the right pavilion: Qin Shi whipped Qin Shi after he had stabilized the Han River's thousands of feet of water. In addition, the "Han Wengong Temple" located at the west foot of Hanshan Mountain in the east of Chaozhou City is an important scenic spot in the Lingdong area. Today, there are Qing Dynasty inscriptions engraved on the stone pillars in the Han Temple.
Here are one of the four couplets of human beings: the original way opened the source of Neo-Confucianism, the official articles, the sun and the moon shine brightly; the Buddha became the mainstay, the lonely ministers traveled alone, and monopolized the country.
Several couplets are mostly from Han Yu, who drove away alligators to establish schools, did good things for the people, and won the respect of the common people. But the most widely circulated is the following couplet: God's will is gentle, not a letter, Mr. Ande is here;
It only takes eight months for a human heart to return to the right path, and it has been taught by him for hundreds of generations.
This connection is so close to people and places that it must be used in Changli Temple in Chaozhou.
The historic Kaiyuan Temple in Chaozhou is a must-see for Chaozhou tourists.
There are many couplets in Kaiyuan Temple, most of which are ink by famous artists. The couplet at the entrance reads: A Blessed Land for Millions of People and Three Thousand Worlds. There is a widely circulated couplet in the "living room" of the Jungle Temple: Quietly inviting the bright moon to return to the Zen room to leisurely cut the spring clouds to mend the robe, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
The Chaozhou scenic spot "Beige Buddha Lantern" has a unique arrangement of pavilions and pavilions. Among them is a couplet by Yao Zhuyuan of the Qing Dynasty: The sound of the river breaking off the ground and the sound of the running feet leaving the sky and the shadow of the peak falling on the city head. This couplet cuts the ground and the scenery.
The four verbs "fold", "run", "take off" and "fall" make the couplet dynamic and full of momentum. Only those who stand in the place of "blue sky and white sun" to enjoy the scenery will have a special feeling when reading this couplet.
.
Dry Creek Tower, another scenic spot in Chaozhou, also has a popular couplet.
Dry Creek Pagoda is also called "Phoenix Pagoda". Many people mistakenly believe that " Dry Creek Pagoda " is "Longqiu Pagoda", including Professor Yu Dequan, the author of "Couplets Zonghengtan", also made this mistake.
Phoenix pagoda couplet: the jade pillar lifts up to the sky, the phoenix rises from the east mountain and marks the seventh level; the golden wheel touches the ground, and the dragon pans over the red sea to control Sanyang.
The "Qinglong Temple" located across the river from the "Phoenix Tower" and located next to the South Embankment also has a widely praised couplet: boats are like shuttles, weaving the beautiful scenery across the river; the tower is like a pen, writing articles in the sky.
Chaozhou's newly restored scenic spot "Phoenix Island Park" has elegant scenery and fresh air.
There is the Temple of the Queen of Heaven in the middle. The Temple of the Queen of Heaven originally had a couplet: The sea is vast, reaching no shore and boundless. Looking at the sky, the sky is high above; the wind is blowing, and it is dangerous and scary. After me, I will recover later.
"Tianhou Temple" is also called "Mazu Temple". People believe that Tianhou is the protector of the sea. This couplet means that if people encounter danger while working at sea, if they pray for help from Tianhou, they will definitely turn the danger around.
Many newly renovated scenic spots in Chaozhou now have couplets, such as the "Crocodile Crossing Autumn Wind Pavilion" located in the middle of the North Embankment on the outskirts of the city, facing the Hanjiang River. The river here is wide, and every autumn the sky is high and the air is crisp, and the river is dotted with white sails, creating a beautiful scene.
, "Crocodile Crossing the Autumn Wind Pavilion" stands on a two-story stone platform, with a couplet on the front pillar: When the Buddha's bones are banished, the mountains and seas gain weight; when the crocodiles are removed, the rivers become clear.
There are couplets on the back pavilion pillars: "How did Xishi ever do evil to Jiangshan?" The two couplets use the story of Han Yu's sacrifice to the crocodile, which is clear and easy to understand. The back pavilion pillars are written by Professor Rao Zongyi, a famous scholar from the city.
There is also the "Jao Tsung-I Academy" located next to the east gate tower. Outside the gate, there is a four-character couplet written by Huang Miaozi: Tao Rong touches the country in ancient and modern times. There is also a couplet in the entrance hall written by Zeng Chunan, a scholar and native of Yi, a great calligrapher and painter in Hong Kong.
Couplet written by Yang Shanshen: A great genius leads the way for his husband; a great work will benefit future generations.
