The former eat this noodle because it is made from fine white wheat flour and has high nutritional value. It can be eaten by women to replenish their health after giving birth. The latter eats it purely to seek "longevity and happiness". However, in Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas, it is generally not called Changfu Changshou Noodles, but Suomian. It is the original homonym of "Shamian" in Ruian dialect, which refers to its characteristics of being as thin as cotton yarn.
