Jiuxi Town is located in the west of Jiangchuan County and the east of Hongta District, Yuxi City, between 102°38′13″ east longitude and 24°18′14″ north latitude.

It is connected to Qianwei Town and Anhua Township in the north, Hongta District in the west, and Tonghai County in the south.

The jurisdiction area is 113.6 square kilometers.

The urban area is 2.4 square kilometers.

It is only 12 kilometers away from Yuxi City Government and 10 kilometers away from Jiangchuan County. The transportation is very convenient.

The town has jurisdiction over 9 village committees (including 2 Yi village committees), 28 villager groups, and 26 natural villages.

At the end of 2006, the town's total population was 26,050, including 13,047 males and 13,003 females.

The agricultural population is 24,649, accounting for 95% of the total population; the non-agricultural population is 1,356, accounting for 5% of the total population.

There are 15 ethnic minorities with 2,814 people, accounting for 10.8% of the total population.
