Haicang District is located in the west of Xiamen, adjacent to the Haicang Bridge in Huli District of Xiamen Island in the east, facing Siming District across Xiamen Port in the southeast, connected to the Xiazhang Bridge in Longhai City of Zhangzhou in the south, bordered by Longhai City of Zhangzhou in the southwest and west, bordered by Changtai County of Zhangzhou City in the northwest, bordered by Guankou Town of jimei district in the north, and connected to Xinyang Bridge across Maluan Bay in jimei district in the northeast.

The easternmost Jingtai Island faces Huli District, the westernmost border is the intersection of Honglun Mountain and Longhai City in Changtai County, the northernmost is the intersection of Xianling Qishan and Guankou Town in jimei district of Changtai County, and the southernmost First Chicken Island faces Longhai City.
