Ankang Shiquan, I mustered up a lot of courage to write the guide for this place, because this is a place you don’t want to leave after you come, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to write it well. Every spring and summer, when my friends in Xi'an ask me, "Which place is worth visiting if you go to southern Shaanxi?", the first thing that pops up in my mind is Shiquan, because this is a place where life is very comfortable and the air is very clean. A great place in the small county town of Chongqing.
Shiquan is named after the spring. It is bordered by Qinling Mountains in the north and Bashan Mountain in the south, so the vegetation coverage rate is very high, and because the Han River passes through the city, the air is relatively humid. I went there myself Shishiquan, in addition to lamenting the food here, what impressed me the most was the livable environment here. I wonder if friends who have been there have this idea. Come here to retire!
Which way to go from Xi'an to Shiquan? I went several times and took three routes, each with its own pros and cons. If you go there for food, you should navigate directly to Shiquan Stadium. Why navigate here? Because parking in Shiquan is very inconvenient. Parking on the roadside is easy to get a ticket, so we navigate Stadium, park your car in its underground parking lot, and it's close to Shiquan Old Street, which is very convenient. There are two expressway routes, namely Xikang and Xihan. The Xihan Expressway is short and has low tolls, but you have to get off the expressway when you reach Lianghekou, and then walk dozens of kilometers at low speed to get to Shiquan; the Xikang Expressway is long and has high tolls, but you can get off the expressway directly at Shiquankou, which is relatively safe; if you want To appreciate the scenery along the way, you can drive at low speed throughout the journey, enter from Fengyukou, and walk along National Highway 210. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Qinling Mountains along the way, but it takes a long time, about 5 hours. (I personally calculated the time by driving)
Personally, I recommend going to Shiquan after get off work on Friday after a simple meal, arriving around 10:30 in the evening, and then checking in. Why do you arrive at night? The purpose is to get early the next morning You can experience the life of Shiquan people firsthand. To understand a city, you must start with its farmer's market. The Taoyuan Farmer's Market in Shiquan really surprised me. It is large in scale, rich in dishes, and most importantly, fresh and almost clean. Take a look at the picture above.
How is it? Have these vegetables aroused your desire to buy? Those who are really good at it must go to this market in the morning and buy some dried vegetables, fresh vegetables, cured meats, etc. unique to southern Shaanxi.
After visiting the Taoyuan morning market before 8 o'clock, we went to Shiquan Old Street (an 8-minute walk). Why did we come here? Because there are two special breakfast restaurants on the old street. First of all, let’s find the crystal buns. Why are they called crystal buns? They are thin-skinned and big in fillings. The key is how to make the fried buns
When you arrive at Shuiquan, don’t hesitate. You must try the tofu and vermicelli stuffing. Taste it, you have to get one of the green beans, two are enough
Although the buns made by the eldest sister are not good-looking, but the side also reflects the filling inside
This crystal bun is said to have been It has been open for more than ten years and has a good reputation in the local area. The store is not big and you have to queue up in the morning
I think there are two differences between his fried buns and Henan fried buns: first, they are much bigger. Secondly, the skin is thin and filled with lots of stuffing. It tastes crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside. If you want to eat it in the store, you can ask for a bowl of soy milk. I suggest you buy a few to take away. There is a snack bar not far from his house. You have to try the Baogu hazelnuts, which are also a specialty of Shiquan. Let me introduce them
I understand the Baogu hazelnuts from Guanzhong, but they are a little thicker and paired with two golden hazelnuts. Crystal buns, full of appetite
In fact, his Baogu Paste Dou also comes with a plate of side dishes, mainly pickled vegetables and dried radish. The correct way to eat is to take a chopstick and put the pickles on the surface of the Paste Dou, and then Then use chopsticks to hold the batter and eat it, which is somewhat similar to the way of eating stir-fried buns in Guanzhong
The local people in Shiquan eat the steamed buns with hot pepper or fermented bean curd. This spicy steamed bun and fermented bean curd are both It is made by local farmers. It is quite different from the bean curd we see on the market. It is also a local specialty. It is good with rice or steamed bacon with tofu. In addition, the mutton bubbles in Shiquan also use air-filled steamed buns. The steamed buns taste chewy, so they won’t be chewed. Those who are interested in mutton steamed buns can also try the local mutton steamed buns in Shiquan. I won’t make them again. Detailed introduction
When going to Shiquan to eat delicious food, I think there are two hard dishes that you must try. One is spicy chicken, and the other is stone pot fish (and grilled fish). At noon, I recommend taking the 210 National Highway next to the county town. Next to the Qiao Wife Farmhouse, you can not only eat authentic Shiquan cuisine, but most importantly, you can eat his signature dish - Guyan spicy chicken. The spicy chicken in Shiquan is really different from other places< /p>
Are you drooling after seeing the picture? Authentic Shiquan Spicy Chicken must use free-range chicken, stir-fried in an earthen stove and firewood iron pot, so that the dried meat is fragrant and firm, and the side dishes inside are also Classic, it uses dried vegetables from southern Shaanxi, such as dried potato slices, dried cowpeas, etc. You can also put konjac, vermicelli, etc. in it, and serve it with potato crispy rice. This taste is so enjoyable that words are really pale to describe it. You'd better try it yourself
In fact, many of Shiquan's eating habits are more similar to those of Sichuan, so I wonder if this stone pot fish was spread from Chongqing, Sichuan.
