At the border between Licheng and Xiangyuan counties, there is Guangzhi Mountain with an altitude of 1,807 meters.
Guangzhi Mountain is commonly known as Changzhi Nao, also known as Zhongyang Mountain. This mountain is majestic and steep, with sharp cliffs and peaks reaching into the sky. On a sunny day, you can climb up here and have a panoramic view of everything within a hundred miles. It makes people feel refreshed and open-minded, so we drive 30 kilometers northwest from Licheng to reach the mountainside of Guangdong Mountain. The hinterland here is broad, with green grass, forests and springs, and a beautiful environment. Based on this unique natural resource, after liberation, Licheng County established a medicinal material field here to carry out economic development. They grow dozens of kinds of precious medicinal materials such as Codonopsis pilosula, Forsythia suspensa, Astragalus membranaceus, Purpura purpurea, etc. with high quality; they also raise many lively and lovely sika deer, which are very lively and beautiful. In spring and summer, the trees here are green, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, and the scenery is very charming. Among the green mountains and green pines, there is a thousand-year-old Laojun Temple. Laojun Temple was built in the first year of Jiaotai in the Southern Tang Dynasty (AD 958). It is one of the oldest temples in Shangdang area. It is enshrined in honor of Taishang Laojun, the originator of Taoism and the man who made Sun Wukong into a man of steel and iron, with blazing eyes and golden eyes.
Laojun Temple was a majestic building in ancient times: there were three front and back halls, one hall higher than the other. The main hall has cantilevered beams and carved corners. Unfortunately, it has been in disrepair for a long time, and now only a dressing room, a theater building and a few wing rooms remain. Climbing up the mountain along the mountain path from Laojun Temple, you will see layers of rocks and lush greenery. After walking for about two miles, you can reach the top of the peak directly. There are two peaks, more than 20 meters apart, connected by a 9-meter-high man-made overpass in the middle. These two peaks reach high into the sky, with a Jade Emperor's Palace and a Bixia Palace respectively built on them. They complement each other and are spectacular. The next day, I climbed to the top of the mountain, caressed the orchid sky above, and walked on the pines and waves below, feeling like I was in a fairyland. Looking far away from here, you can see the eight hundred miles of Taihang dry mountains and thousands of valleys, with verdant peaks and ridges, and a variety of scenes that make people dizzy and open-minded. Since ancient times, many famous people have expressed their ambitions here and left many poems. It is true that "Ling Dian begins to know the heroes of heaven and earth." After Li Jie, a famous scholar from the Qing Dynasty, climbed the peak, he wrote a poem praising it: "On the way back, I met Yin Chan, bringing with him the fragrance of the sky and the mist at dusk."
This shows that the poet is deeply obsessed with Guangzhi. "Climb Guangzhinao and have a panoramic view of the mountains and small mountains." For thousands of years, tourists have been visiting Guangzhi Mountain in an endless stream. There are two traditional temple fairs held every year on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month and the first day of October, which are grand in scale and attract countless pilgrims. The vast majority of people attending the temple fair are people from Li and Xiang counties. Speaking of the Grandma Temple Fair in Guangzhi Mountain, there is also a popular folk story: According to legend, a long time ago, a family named Wang lived in Beiguan, Xiangyuan County. The old couple only had a daughter named Wang Zhaodi. This brother-in-law grew up to be seventeen years old, but he still didn't have a younger brother. The old couple followed each other up the mountain to burn incense and pray for a son. Unexpectedly, Zhaodi did not abide by his "duty". She ignored the feudal rules at that time that unmarried women could not go to the mountain to worship Buddha, and followed quietly. When they reached the mountain, the old couple went to the temple to burn incense. Zhaodi's mother suddenly discovered that Zhaodi was not allowed to go to the mountain to worship Buddha. Kneel down behind yourself and prostrate. She was very angry and cursed at Zhaodi, "My aunt, who asked you to come?" She slapped Zhaodi on the head. Unexpectedly, a slap hit the vital part and killed Brother Zhao. After Zhaodi died, people married her to a man from Licheng and buried her in Guangzhinan. It is said that she became a god. In order to commemorate her, people made a statue of her and built a grandma temple. Since then, the "grandma temple" has been popular, and the people in the two counties of Xiangyuan and Licheng have formed "in-laws".
People in Licheng call him "brother-in-law" when they meet Xiangyuan people, and people in Xiangtan jokingly call him "little nephew" when they meet people in Licheng. It has been teasing like this for thousands of years, and no one has any objection. Guangzhi Mountain not only has beautiful scenery and beautiful folklore, it is also a revolutionary resort with glorious traditions. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Eighth Route Army came to the front line in North China and opened up the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan base area based on the Taihang Mountains. The rear hospital of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters is stationed here. In the autumn of 1941, with the cooperation of local militiamen, the headquarters' special agents bravely fought off the Japanese attack despite danger. This adds more glorious color to Guangzhi Mountain. Today's Guangzhi Mountain has become a famous tourist attraction. In order to meet the development needs of the tourism industry, the Licheng People's Government allocated funds to repair the Guxun ruins, built roads, provided tourist service facilities, and carried out comprehensive development and utilization of the site.
It is foreseeable that Guangzhi Mountain will become more colorful
