Whether as a local Hejiang person or a foreign tourist, lychee is a delicacy that we cannot miss every summer.
So what everyone is most concerned about is the variety and price of lychees.
Zhixi Street is one of the three major wholesale markets for Hejiang lychees. At the Zhixi Street lychee market, reporters found that most of the varieties sold on the market today are Dahongpao. The price of a pound of freshly picked Dahongpao lychees is about seven or eight yuan.
The price ranges from 20 yuan to 20 yuan. In order to buy the most satisfactory lychees, the reporter specifically asked Mr. Wen Jian, an old expert who has been engaged in lychee research for many years and chairman of the Hejiang County Lychee Research Association, for advice.
When talking about how to select lychees, Wen Jian talked eloquently: the color is bright red on the sunny side (face), purple on the back, the first fruit shoulder is upright, the second bottom is pointed, and the third suture line is obvious.
It turns out that there is a lot of knowledge in distinguishing the quality of lychees. The appearance can be judged by the color and fruit shape. Thin skin, bright color, large core and small core, thick and juicy flesh are better. Of course, it is also recommended that you taste it before buying. It is sweet.
Sour and refreshing, fragrant and fragrant, tender and sludge is a good flavor.
The main issue is production and scale.
Due to the low output, the local market can absorb it, and there is no need for advertising or outward diffusion, further affecting the popularity of Sichuan lychees.
Due to the limitations of water and heat conditions, Sichuan lychees have only formed a certain scale in Hejiang County. The annual lychees can be consumed in the local market and there is no demand for export. Therefore, the main lychee production areas in Hejiang and Yibin are mainly in and around it.
That is, Eastern Sichuan and Chongqing have some popularity.
Due to the small output, Sichuan lychees rarely appear in local markets, so there is no need to advertise in other areas, and it is difficult for outsiders to buy Sichuan lychees in the market.
Each has its own merits. Dalang Dalingshan lychees in Dongguan mainly include high-end brands such as Gui Flavor and Nuomi Zi. Gui Flavor has crispier meat, while Nuomi Zi has softer texture. Both are sweet and juicy. Of course, there are also early-ripening March Red and late-ripening varieties.
Black leaf, white wax, Feizixiao and other varieties are on the market at the same time as Gui flavor. However, Dongguan lychees generally refer to Gui flavor and glutinous rice. Feizixiao is also the main variety. Guangzhou lychees generally refer to Guangzhou lychees and so on.
The classification of Sichuan Hejiang lychees is not so detailed, mainly because the fruiting period is different, because the main varieties of Dongguan lychees are on the market at the end of May and early June, and I only tasted the new Hechuan lychees for the first time in Sichuan in mid-July this year.
Although it is said in history that Yang Guifei, the concubine laughed when she was riding in the mortal world, no one knew that it was lychee. Some people think it is Guangdong lychee, but I am more inclined to Sichuan lychee, because it was a quick ride through the Qinling Mountains through the inn at that time, and from Guangdong to Chang'an
It is much farther away, and lychees cannot be stored for a long time, so Yang Guifei probably ate Hechuan lychees, which are also very sweet.
Early-maturing varieties with a too short growth period, such as March Red, generally have a sour taste.
Is life convenient?
