1672 (in the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty), the Deng clan applied to Xin 'an County to build a market in the area north of Lincun River, and named it Tai Po Market, which is now Tai Po Old Market. At that time, Tai Po Market was strategically located. It was the main traffic route between Kowloon City and Shenzhen Market, and it was also a fishing port (now called Tolo Port) facing Tai Po Sea. It was an excellent commercial place. Tai Po has become a water transportation hub in this area, and passenger ships travel to and from many places, even as far away as Chaozhou and Shantou.
Therefore, residents in neighboring areas also want to open stores in Dabu market, but they are always opposed by people named Deng. 1892 (18th year of Guangxu in Qing dynasty), the Xin 'an magistrate ruled that Dabu market was the tax field of the Deng family, and the dispute was temporarily ended.
