The Mass Kara Festival is a unique local festival. In the third week of October every year, the carnival lasts for one week. In this festival, people wear makeup and smiling masks, marching through the city of Bacolod in droves with passionate Latin dance music. The main activities include queen MassKara beauty contest, carnival, drum and bugle team competition, food festival, sports competition, concert, agricultural trade fair, garden exhibition and other special activities. Every April and May, there is a Panaad Handicraft Festival, also known as the Panaad Festival. Panaad means oath in Greek, which is similar to Thanksgiving Day in the west, and it is a day to pray to heaven to thank for a good life. Therefore, the province designated this as Mother's Day.
