In southwest China, there is a beautiful city. It is a special city. It is a city with a history of 1,240 years.
Pushing aside the thick clouds of history, and through the layers of fog, I saw Kunming 1,240 years ago. That was in AD 765. In that year, Kunming, this historic city
born.
In these 1,240 years, the city of Kunming has experienced countless ups and downs, including sunshine and heavy rain, which has also made the old city of Kunming even more vicissitudes of life.
On November 1, 1937, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Nankai University formed Changsha Provisional University. One month after the start of the semester, the Japanese army forced it to move to Yunnan in February 1938.
National Southwest Associated University was formally established. At that time, China was already in dire straits. I remember the words of the Southwest Associated University: The Western Mountains are green and the Yunnan River is vast.
This is no longer Bohai Taihang, this is no longer Hengyue Xiaoxiang.
Students, don’t forget your lost hometown!
Don’t let down the great era!
Don't waste your precious time!
Hurry up to study, hurry up to prepare, we are all responsible for the war of resistance and the founding of the country, we are all responsible for it!
Students, we must use our precious time to create a great era and restore our lost hometown!
Among the teachers and students of Southwest Associated University, there are also many great figures who have dedicated their lives for China.
Mr. Wen Yiduo is one of them.
During the eight years of the Anti-Japanese War, he grew a beard and vowed not to shave it off if the Anti-Japanese War was not won. This was a Chinese expression of determination to resist the war to the end!
Mr. Zhu Ziqing is also an outstanding intellectual with national integrity.
His spirit of preferring to starve rather than receive American "relief food" was praised by the Communist Party as "exhibiting the heroism of our nation."
Today's Kunming has long changed.
Although the vicissitudes of the past can still be seen everywhere, the ancient city of Kunming has already formed a unique urban culture and humanistic spirit.
Has the cloud of history disappeared?
No!
It still exists, and it has laid the foundation for Kunming's rich heritage, allowing Kunming to remain prosperous even after thousands of years of clouds and fog clearing.
Time passes like a turbulent river, but space remains where it is, changing itself.
The history of the city slowly fades with the passage of time, turning into curls of smoke clinging to the ancient buildings, making these buildings a record of those ancient memories.
In ancient times, all Kunming people thought that they lived in a paradise.
"Dianchi Lake is full of moonlight, Yunjin night market, snail peaks are covered with verdant green, Shangshan woodcutter sings, Longquan ancient plum blossoms, Guandu fishing lanterns, dam bridge smoke willows, and the reflection of Chongshan Mountain."
Thousands of years ago, the "Eight Scenic Spots of Kunming" fascinated and admired countless Kunming people.
This is a beautiful city and this is my beautiful home.
I like to close my eyes and listen to the sounds in the center of the city. Over the thousands of years, these sounds have undergone countless changes. They have laughed happily, cried sadly, been angry, shouted, and
There have been quiet times and noisy times. This is the voice of a city. This is the voice of a country. It tells everything it has experienced.
This is Kunming, this is my Spring City, my country.
