Are there any urban legends in Shenyang?
It is said that Shenyang is a treasure land, and there are seventy-two underground demons. The detailed story of the legend goes like this. According to legend, when Nurhachi built the capital in Shenyang in the Qing Dynasty, he personally inspected the main project after the completion of the main construction of the city. During the inspection, he found that Shenyang, where Nuoda is located, has no large drainage facilities. He thought that if the flood came, the loss would be great, so he called the minister in charge of water conservancy for a severe inquiry. The minister replied that Shenyang is a treasure trove of feng shui. There are seventy-two underground devils, so there is no need to waste money on drainage facilities. But Nurhachi didn't believe what he said and killed him on a charge (I can't remember clearly). Things just passed. A few years later, there was a flood in the imperial capital one year, and the rainstorm continued. Nurhachi suddenly remembered this matter and was very worried. He asks about the disaster every day, but ministers say it's nothing. There is no water on the ground. The slave remembered what the minister of water conservancy said and felt very strange, so he invited a famous old Taoist to see Feng Shui. Unexpectedly, what the old Taoist priest said was exactly the same as what the minister said. Nurhachi regretted it very much, as if he had finally been rehabilitated by the minister.

It is said that there is a scorpion essence in Shenyang, which often harms the people. When passing by, a Taoist priest told local officials that he killed 49 people who seemed to belong to chickens at a gate of the city in Youyou, and buried their heads in the soil three feet below the gate, so as to restrain the monster. The local officials did as he said, and sure enough, scorpion essence never appeared in the city again. When the city gate was renovated after liberation, it was said that thousands of scorpions were dug up three feet underground.

Do you know the four pagodas in Shenyang? It is said that Shenyang City is supported by a big rock. I can't remember when it was. At that time, the local officials invited a Taoist priest to watch the old earthquake, saying that Da Ao's limbs were moving, and it was necessary to build four towers on its limbs to hold down its limbs, so that there would be no more earthquakes in Shenyang. After the official repaired the four towers, the earthquake did not happen. However, it is said that during the Cultural Revolution, the buildings were demolished because they were dilapidated. Then something bad happened, so it was rebuilt. Now the four pagodas in Shenyang were built later.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Shenyang became a vassal state of Yan, and it was owned by the obedient Sushen family. During the Western Han Dynasty, the Han Dynasty established Hou County in present-day Shenyang, later changed to Liaodong County, and later changed to Xuantu County. Since the mid-Han Dynasty, Shenyang has always been regarded as Xuantu County, known as Koguryo County. Today, the remains of Han Dynasty that we saw in Shenyang Museum come from the south bank of Hunhe River, which is located about 10 km southeast of the urban area. It is speculated that this place may be ruled by Houcheng County and Tugong County in the pre-Han Dynasty. In the middle and late Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xuantu County was owned by Houyan, and the county was moved to Xianxing, North Korea, and Shenyang was still called Koguryo County. In 407 AD, Beiyan destroyed the Houyan regime, Shenyang was taken by Beiyan, and Koguryo County was abolished. Since then, Shenyang has belonged to the Northern Wei Dynasty and the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Tang Ruizong Jing Yun years (710-711), Shen Zhou was established in today's Shenyang area. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Shen Zhou was occupied by the newly rising Khitans. In the sixth year of Liao Taizu (92 1), Liao soldiers will set up Sanhe county on the north bank of Shenshui. Later it was changed to Lejiao County. It became the seat of Xingliao Army and Zhao Dejun in China, and its address is near Shenyang today. During the Jin Dynasty, Shenyang was ruled by Shenzhou Xiande Army. At the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, it was still called Shen Zhou. Later, because Shenzhou lived in the north of Shenshui, it was named Shenyang Road, Shen Zhou (in ancient times, the water shell was Yang, and the water south was Yin). There is an old legend about the origin of Shenyang. According to legend, at the foot of Shizuitou Mountain (now Zhushan Mountain) on the north bank of Shenshui, there lived a young man-Brother Shen. This year, the submerged water suddenly broke into waves and floods raged. It turned out that the three-headed dumpling of the submerged dragon king was making waves. Brother Shen vowed to find Santou jiaozi, so as to kill pests for the people. As it happens, Sister Yang, the third princess of the Dragon King of Dongmei, heard that her parents were betrothing herself to her cousin Shen Shuilong's three-headed dumpling, so she went to Shen Shuilong Palace behind her parents' back to personally observe her cousin's character. Unexpectedly, Santou jiaozi is having a "boys' banquet". When Sister Yang saw it, her lungs exploded with anger, and she was determined to help Brother Shen get rid of the three-headed jiaozi. She took off her walk-on and put it on Shen Ge, saying, "Put on your walk-on and you can fly to the sky. If you want to move Sun Ge in the fire, only Sun Ge's fire can burn three jiaozi. " Shen Ge broke into the fire and the sun made Shen Ge smoke, but Shen Ge still gritted his teeth and ran away. When he returned to Shenshui, Sandujiao was desperately dragging his sheep sister into the water, while his younger brother Shen quickly threw the sun away. The three-headed dumpling was burnt to ashes by Brother Sun, but Brother Shen couldn't support it himself and fell into the river. Sister Yang saw it. Extremely anxious, shouted; "Brother Shen-"jumped into the river to save him. But she forgot that her robes had been taken off for Brother Shen. The villagers searched Shenshui, but they didn't find the bodies of their brother Shen and sister Yang, so they set up a monument on the north bank of Shenshui, engraved with the word "Shenyang". Later, villages and cities were built around this stone tablet, and this place was called Shenyang. Because it happened to be on the sunny side of Shen Shui, later generations didn't know the story of the fight between Shen Ge and Yangmei, so they mistook "Shenyang" for "Shenyang".
