Legend 1:
In ancient times, there lived a father and a daughter in a mountain village in the east of Haicheng. My father Nan Laohan herded sheep and collected herbs, and my daughter Nanguo raised silkworms and weaved silk. Although life was poor, it was also enjoyable.
One morning, the girl from Nanguo walked out of the house and sang all the way to the silkworm farm. She was so happy to see all the silkworms on the oak leaves eating chubby. Suddenly, a harsh birdsong came from not far away. The girl from Nanguo searched for the sound and saw an injured baby eagle struggling with a serpent. Seeing that the baby eagle was exhausted, the serpent gained the upper hand. Girl Nanguo conveniently broke off a branch and threw herself at the poisonous snake. The poisonous snake was killed and the baby eagle was saved, but girl Nanguo was bitten by the poisonous snake in the struggle and slowly closed her beautiful eyes.
In the evening, Nanlaohan came back from herding sheep and didn't see his daughter. He was so anxious that he found the silkworm farm and picked up his dead daughter, which was very painful. With the help of the villagers, Nan Laohan buried his daughter, took the baby eagle home, treated it carefully, and soon healed it. On this day, the old man picked up the baby eagle and said to it, "Your wound is healed, and no matter what kind of poisonous snake is your opponent in the future." The little eagle seemed to understand the words of the old man in the south, nodded to the old man in the south, and spread its wings and flew into the distance with a long sound.
The following spring, people saw an eagle hovering over the tomb of Nanguo girl for nine days in kuya. After flying away on the tenth day, a pear tree grew beside the grave. Nan Laohan takes this pear tree as his daughter and takes good care of it. The small pear tree grew up day by day, flourishing, and in autumn, it was full of fruits. Nan Laohan distributed the picked pears to the villagers, and some put them in baskets and hung them on the beams. Some put pears in hollowed-out dried gourd heads. A few days later, there was a strong fragrance floating from every household in the village. Everyone searched and found that it was the fragrance from pears in baskets and gourd heads. Everyone had never seen such beautiful, delicious and fragrant fruits, and they were refreshing after eating pears. Some patients recovered quickly after eating pears. In order to commemorate Nanguo girl, the villagers called the pear "Nanguo pear", and this small mountain village has since been called "Eagle does not fall" village.
The news that Nanguo pear is delicious and can keep fit and get sick soon reached the ears of the magistrate. He sent someone to take Nanguo pear tree back, plant it in his own garden, and also arrested Nan Laohan to help Nanguo pear tree. In autumn, the magistrate saw the fruit of the tree, and thought that if Nanguo pear was given to the emperor, the emperor would be successful in my official career as soon as he was happy. He ordered Nan Laohan to pick pears, put them in baskets and prepare to go to Beijing to present them to the emperor. A few days passed, and the pear didn't smell at all. The magistrate picked up a pear and took a bite, which was sour and hard. In a rage, he sent someone to cut down the pear tree and let Nan Lao man go. Nan Laohan returned home with several Nanguo pears hidden in his arms, planted pear seeds on the hillside around Nanguo girl's grave, and soon the pear seeds sprouted and grew into small pear trees. In the autumn of the third year, the trees were covered with pears, and the pears were as beautiful, delicious and fragrant as before, so "Nanguo Pear" became a specialty of Haicheng.
