Chicory stems are upright growth, the basal leaves are rosette-shaped, the leaves are small and sessile, thinner, with sparse long nodding hairs on both sides. The ligulate florets are blue in color and the achenes are ellipsoid.

The appearance of chicory root: the main root of chicory is conical, with lateral roots and most of the fibrous roots, the surface is brownish-yellow, with wrinkles. It is not easy to break, with slight gas and bitter flavor.
