Red Sorghum is a novella by Mo Yan, a contemporary writer in China. Red Sorghum is set in the folk life of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and Gaomi Northeast in 1930s and 1940s, and a series of anti-Japanese heroes portrayed in the story are the embodiment of justice and evil. Yu Zhanao, the hero, is a bloody man, whose body is full of justice and barbarism.
