When mixing cocktails, the thumb and forefinger of the left hand hold the lower part of the mixing glass, and the ring finger and middle finger of the right hand hold the spiral part of the bar handle. Because the thumb and forefinger hold the upper end of the handle of the stick, they don't use force when stirring, but use the pulp of the middle finger and the ring finger to make the stick rotate clockwise in the mixing cup.
