Hydroponic lychee can live 7 - 10 years.

Litchi is an evergreen tree of the family Sapindaceae, genus Lychee, with a height of about 10 meters, grayish-black bark, terete branchlets, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate leaves, glossy leaves, flourish-green dorsal surface, glabrous on both sides, leaves with a thin leathery or coriaceous texture, terminal inflorescences, slender pedicels, and fruits that are ovoid to subglobose, and are usually dark red to bright red in color when ripe.
