The Dragon Boat Festival in 2019 will be on June 7, 2019, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month
From the perspective of historical records, the word "Dragon Boat Festival" was first seen in "Fu Tu" written by Zhou Chu of Jin Dynasty. Notes: "Dragon Boat Festival in midsummer, cooking millet." The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival for the Han people in my country. Indispensable activities on this day have continued to evolve under the baptism of history. Today, some of the activities that still remain include eating rice dumplings, racing dragon boats, hanging calamus and moxa leaves, smoking atractylodes and angelica, drinking realgar wine, etc.
It is said that eating rice dumplings and racing dragon boats on the Dragon Boat Festival are to commemorate the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan tried to persuade the king of Chu to unite with Qi to resist Qin, but failed. Instead, he was expelled and exiled from the capital. In Chu State, he was defeated by the Qin army. After that, Qu Yuan was extremely sad and angry, threw himself into the river and died. His righteousness and concern for the country and the people have been praised by the people for thousands of years. After liberation, our country named the Dragon Boat Festival "Poet's Day" to commemorate Qu Yuan.
