The county covers an area of 3216 square kilometers, with a forestry land area of 225,871.1 hectares, with a forest cover of 42.3%. In the forestry land, the forested land area is 141983.0 hectares, the sparse forest land area is 941.6 hectares, the shrubland area is 52,767.8 hectares, the area of unforested afforestation land is 4,719.8 hectares, the nursery land area is 6.3 hectares, and the area of unforested land is 25,452.6 hectares.
The county has live wood storage 11618365 cubic meters. There are more than 4,000 kinds of woody plants and 440 kinds of wild animals in the county, including dove tree, fir, ginkgo, camphor tree and other precious species, and there is a national Tangjiahe Nature Reserve covering an area of 730,000 mu in the county.
4, water resources
Qingchuan County belongs to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River Jialing River system, the county's territory of rivers across the water network, there are 19 streams and rivers watershed area of 50 square kilometers, of which the main rivers are: Bailongjiang River, Qingzhu River and Qiaozhuang River. Groundwater resources are abundant, with a total water storage capacity of 15.7 billion cubic meters and a hydro energy reserve of more than 1 million kilowatts.
The county's various types of water conservancy and hydropower projects have been utilized for 106.8 million cubic meters, accounting for only 11.3%, and the amount of human and animal drinking water projects have been utilized for 3.64 million cubic meters, accounting for only 12% of the groundwater resources.

The county per capita land 19.83 acres, 1.75 acres of arable land, 17.46 acres of forest land, pasture 1.71 acres, is the National Ecological Agriculture Pilot County, Sichuan Province, the base county of animal husbandry production.
