Domestic Brazilian tortoises need the following five steps to survive the winter:

Here is a simple shallow water wintering method.

Tools needed: a plastic box with a proper amount of water.

1, rinse the plastic box first.

2. Pour in the right amount of water, not too much. The purpose of this step is to let the tortoise breathe when it is hibernating.

3. Put the tortoise in a plastic box. If the water is not higher than the tortoise shell, add some water. If the water is much higher than the tortoise shell, scoop out some water.

4. Move the tortoise to the dark corner of the house. The purpose of this step is that the dark environment is conducive to hibernation and the temperature difference in the corner is small.

5. In this way, the tortoise can hibernate safely in winter.

Note: the water in the box can be changed once a week, so you don't have to change it too often.
