Reflections on The Romance of The Three Kingdoms Burning Red Cliff

Koho Lee

Recently, I read one of my favorite books in Four Great Classical Novels, Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms mainly talks about the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, when the world was in chaos and the Three Kingdoms returned to Jin. It describes the characters' manners and moral outlook, and in the wonderful war, it writes in detail the strategy and how to use and win over talents, and clearly shows the word "live" between the lines. Among them, my favorite passage is the battle of wits on the eve of burning Chibi and the embarrassment of Cao Cao when he fled after burning Chibi.

At that time, Cao Cao was in charge of the state power, and if the officials were not careful, they would be killed by Cao Cao. Cao Cao has also destroyed Yuan Shao and set Liu Biao, and no force can compete with him. Northerners are not accustomed to water, so Sun Quan, who is entrenched in Jiangdong and uses the natural barrier of the Yangtze River to defend himself, has long been a thorn in Cao Cao's side and a thorn in his flesh. So, Cao Cao took all the troops that could be transferred, almost one million. And Cao Cao himself led a million troops, ready to wipe out Sun Quan entrenched in Jiangdong at one fell swoop, leaving no room for resistance.

Cao Cao's army came to Jiangdong, and Cao Cao sent messengers to surrender Wu, but the messengers were beheaded by Zhou Yu. Cao Cao rushed out in a rage, but northerners didn't know how to fight water at all. Therefore, although Zhou Yu had few people, he still took a lot of advantages. Cao Cao asked Cai and Zhang to train the water army. But at night, Zhou Yu looked at the flames over there, so he went to explore the truth and found out that Cai and Zhang were the commanders of the water army. When Cao Cao knew this, he was angry and annoyed. Seeing that he was an old friend of Zhou Yu, Jiang Gan volunteered to surrender Zhou Yu. However, Jiang Gan did not persuade Zhou Yu to get back into the trap, mistook the fake letters for real information, and regarded Cai and Zhang as rebels, who were beheaded by Jun. As soon as Cai and Zhang were beheaded, Cao Cao knew the trick. See this plan can't be used that plan-false surrender. (www.aiyangedu.com after reading it) So, Cai He and Cai Zhong were sent to surrender to Soochow for a pretence. After Zhou Yu knew it, he worked with Huang Gai to make risks. Kanze knew it was a bitter plan, so he helped Huang Gai deliver a false surrender book and cheated Cao Cao. Kan Ze also went to Gan Ning camp to help Gan Ning surrender, and cheated Cao Cao. Finally, Pang Tong's series of stratagems and Kongming's borrowing from the east wind made Cao Jun's soldiers burn alive on the ship.

When Cao Cao fled, he said that Kong Ming was not as clever as he was. As a result, it was first intercepted by Zhao Zilong, then killed by Zhang Fei, and finally Huarong Road was released by Guan Yu with friendship. Cao Cao fled awkwardly with more than twenty riders.

I think Zhou Yu and Kong Ming are too clever. Zhou Yu could have expected that Jiang Gan would turn over fake letters and try his best with Huang Gai. Kong Ming can borrow the east wind, and if Guan Yu hadn't let him go, the ambush set by Kong Ming would have definitely let Cao Cao die here. Kan Ze also cooperated with Huang Gai and Gan Ning, and successfully deceived Cao Cao. Although Cao Cao is a generation of treacherous men, although he is brave and resourceful, he mainly relies on luck and luck.

When I grow up, I want to be like Zhou Yu and Kong Ming, with a witty mind and magical tricks. Unlike Cao Cao, he is complacent.
