Introduction to the landscape of Hongluo Temple: ① Three scenic spots of Hongluo Temple-Yuzhulin.
This bamboo forest in front of the mountain gate was planted by Zen master Yunshan in Yuan Dynasty, which has a history of more than 600 years. According to the Records of Huairou County, in the 32nd year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (AD 1694), it was very strange to see this green bamboo forest, that is, the officials around him counted the number of bamboos at 6 13, and before leaving, they told the monks and local officials in the temple to take good care of the bamboo forest so that he could come and watch it often. Later, people called this bamboo forest. In the northwest corner of the bamboo forest, there is also a restored "bamboo viewing pavilion". In that year, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty set up a throne in the original pavilion to enjoy bamboo. The bamboo forest of Hongluo Temple is evergreen and flourishing, with about one million bamboos, which is known as one of the "Three Wonders of Hongluo Temple".
② Three scenic spots in Hongluo Temple-male and female ginkgo biloba
There are two ancient ginkgo trees in front of Daxiong Hall. The female tree in the east is delicate and short, and the male tree in the west is tall and stout. This male ginkgo tree is more than 1 100 years old, with a height of more than 30 meters and a girth of 7 meters. Although it has been more than a thousand years, it has not lost its vitality. Every spring, the male trees are full of pale yellow flowers, but they don't see fruit in autumn, while the female trees are full of fruit in spring and autumn in bloom. People think that they are like a perfect couple, so they are also called husband and wife trees. There is a saying that "it is difficult to make a forest by one tree", but the male ginkgo tree in Hongluo Temple has the trend of "making a forest by one tree" because it has ten branches that grow straight and upward from the root, and there is a very magical legend about these ten branches. According to local legend, every time a dynasty is changed, this male ginkgo tree grows a new branch from the root, and now it has ten branches and a trunk. In spring, these two ginkgo trees are old trees sprouting, but in summer, they are leafy and shady. In autumn, the golden ginkgo leaves set off the hall of the Great Hero, making people stop and linger. Ginkgo biloba is a unique living fossil of plants in relict plant and China, which has high research and appreciation value. Therefore, male and female ginkgo biloba is called one of the "Three Wonders of Hongluo Temple".
③ Three scenic spots of Hongluo Temple-wisteria sending pine.
On the west side of the courtyard in front of the Third Temple in the Hall of Ursa Major, wisteria is one of the "Three Wonders of Red Snail". This scene is composed of a flat-topped pine and two vines. The flat-topped pine is about 6 meters high, and its branches are divided into nine branches, extending its powerful arms in all directions in parallel, while two vines with thick bowls are crawling all over the branches like jade pillars, adding a sense of charm to this pine tree, and the pine and vines are flourishing, forming a natural giant umbrella with a shade area of nearly 300 square meters. At the beginning of May every year, the vines covered with flowers are like strings of purple agates falling all over the branches, like a purple auspicious cloud floating between the temples, and the rich fragrance of flowers floats all over the temple. In ancient times, every year during the flower season, the abbot of this temple would invite the abbot elders and celebrities from temples near Beijing to come to Hongluo Temple and sit under a tree to enjoy flowers and talk about it. In the Yuan Dynasty's daming temple Monument on Hongluo Mountain, there is such a record: "Listen to the golden cymbals on a breezy night, and all the heavens are beside the vines". This scene has a history of at least 800 years. As the saying goes, "loose vines are hard to grow", but the loose vines in Hongluo Temple have lived in harmony for more than 800 years. The vines never leave the vines, and the pine leaves the vines, so it is called one of the "Three Wonders of Hongluo Temple".
④ Hongluochi
The red snail pond in front of the temple is also called the lotus pond and the release pond. There are stone carvings of two fairies in the pond, which leads to the origin of the name of the red snail temple.
⑤ Shanmen
Hongluo Temple is built with the mountain facing south. If you want to enter the temple gate, you have to go through such a stone slope road. The locals call it Chin Cha Zi. There are several theories about why Hongluo Temple was built into such a slope instead of a tall step. First, the emperor said that if it was a tall step, it would be inconvenient for the emperor to walk in his car, so it was built like this; Second, the wide and long tongue says that the wide and long tongue phase is one of the 32 adult phases of the Buddha's body, also known as the wide and long wheel phase, the long tongue phase, the wide and long tongue phase, and the tongue phase has two representations: ① The language must be true. (2) male discrimination, can convince anyone and no one can surpass him.
⑥ Ursa Hall
The main hall is dedicated to Buddha Sakyamuni, Pharmacist Buddha and Amitabha Buddha, with eighteen arhats on the east and west sides. Behind the statue of Sakyamuni is a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
