Xiangyang City is a provincial municipality in Hubei, under the jurisdiction of Xiangcheng, Fancheng, Xiangzhou 3 districts, Nanzhang, Baokang, Gucheng 3 counties, Zaoyang, Yicheng, Laohekou 3 county-level cities, with a state-level Xiangyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Xiangyang Economic and Technological Development Zone ( Dongjin New Area ) and provincial-level Yuliangzhou Economic Development Zone.
Introduction of Zaoyang City: Located in the east of Xiangyang, Zaoyang City has 12 towns of Lutou, Xinshi, Taiping, Preah Vihear, Qifang, Juwan, Xiongjie, Wudian, Pinglin, Wangcheng, Xinglong, and Liusheng, 3 offices of Nancheng, Beicheng, and Huancheng, 2 farms' management districts (Chehe and Suiyang), and 1 provincial-level economic and technological development zone (Xicheng Development Zone).
Zaoyang terrain is high in the east and low in the west, tilted from northeast to southwest, the water flows from east to west, but there is no major rivers and water systems. There are more low hills in the territory, and the three kinds of landforms, namely, hills, rambling hillocks and river fannies, have clear outlines. Zaoyang belongs to the transition zone between temperate zone and subtropical zone, the climate has four distinct seasons, cold in winter and hot in summer, with relatively short severe winters and scorching summers, and a long frost-free period. It is suitable for the growth of many kinds of plants, with more than one thousand kinds of seed plants and rich vegetation. There are many kinds of proven mineral resources in the territory, among which, the reserves of rutile and garnet ore rank first in Asia and China.
In 2020, the population of Zaoyang City was as follows: 430,600 households; 1,119,500 people; 1,005,200 permanent residents, of which 578,800 were men and 547,700 were women; 417,100 were in towns and 702,300 were in villages.
