Early orange is native to Huangyan, Zhejiang Province, and is widely cultivated in Huangyan, Taizhou and Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Its main characteristics: the crown is irregular and round, the tree is strong, the fruit is oblate, the weight of a single fruit is 6-8 grams, and the fruit color is orange and smooth. The edible rate is above 78%, and the fruit juice rate is above 55%. The meat is soft and juicy, the flavor is medium-to-upper, the soluble solid content is above 1%, the sugar content is 8.-8.5g/1ml, the acid content is .8-.9g/1ml, the vitamin C content is 13-14mg/1ml, the seeds are about eight, and the fruit matures in the middle and late October.
Nanfeng tangerine is native to Nanfeng, Jiangxi. Its main characteristics are: the crown is semicircular and the branches are slender and dense. The fruit is oblate, weighing 3-5g, orange-yellow, smooth and easy to peel. The pulp is soft and juicy, with sweet flavor, 14% of soluble solids, 1-11g/1ml of sugar, and .9-1.g/1ml of acid, with high quality. Pinghe Citrus is an excellent variety in Pinghe, Fujian Province, which enjoys a long-standing reputation. Its main features: robust tree potential and tall crown. The fruit is oblate or highly oblate, the weight of a single fruit is about 15 grams, the peel is .25-.3 cm thick and orange-red. The edible rate is over 75%, the soluble solid content is 12-13%, the sugar content is 1.1g/1ml, the acid content is .5g-.6g/1ml, and the vitamin C content is 28-34mg/1ml. The pulp is crisp and tender, and the taste is sweet and sour. Mature in the first and middle of November.
Zaojin Satsuma Citrus was selected from Xingjin Satsuma Citrus by Citrus Research Institute of Academy of Agricultural Sciences. After many trial planting observations, it has the characteristics of early coloring, quick acid reduction, short fruit growth period, early maturity and excellent quality. The fruit is oblate, with soluble solids of 1% and acid content below 1.1g/1ml, and is seedless.
Jinxiang pomelo is widely cultivated in Changde, Hunan province. Its main characteristics are: the crown is tall, the fruit is long and inverted oval, smaller, the fruit is golden yellow, the peel is soft and medium thick. The flesh is yellow, the juice is sweet, the soluble solid content is 1%-11%, the sugar content is 7-8g/1ml, and the acid content is .3-.4g/1ml, which is of high quality. The fruit ripens from late September to early October.
