Beacon Hill Song Kiln Ruins
It is one of the important sites for studying the development of ceramic industry production in southern my country and the "Maritime Silk Road".
The Bijia Mountain Song Kiln is located in Xiangqiao, east of the city at the west foot of Bijia Mountain. The ancient ruins stretch for 2 kilometers from Hutou Mountain in the north to Yinzi Mountain in the south. The kiln sites are lined up in rows. The Bijiashan Kiln Factory was founded in the Tang Dynasty and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty. Its products are sold at home and abroad, becoming one of China's ceramic export bases and known as the "Ceramic Capital of Guangdong". There are many kinds of products, mainly including daily utensils such as bowls, boxes, lamps, lamps, stoves, cups, pots, bowls, beans, cauldrons, washers, pillows, powder boxes, and craft porcelain such as bottles, figures, toys, etc. Solid and unique. The glaze color is mainly shadow green glaze, with green, white, yellow, sauce brown glaze, etc., the glaze is crystal clear and moist, like silver and jade, most of them are not open or only have very fine caviar patterns; the decoration is mainly based on scratching, and also There are carvings and hollows.
Since 1953, the Guangdong Provincial Museum and Chaozhou cultural workers have carried out archaeological excavations on the Song kiln relocation sites many times in conjunction with infrastructure projects. After the loss, 11 kiln sites were cleaned up, including the class-type dragon kiln. , and there is also a slope-type dragon kiln. The longest remaining kiln No. 10 is 78 meters long and about 3 meters wide. Except for the destruction of the kiln head and fire chamber, the kiln walls, kiln tail, fire walls, class partition beams, etc. are all well preserved. In addition, a large number of porcelains were unearthed. Among them are the "Magu Jinjiu" which is listed as a first-class collection, and the Guanyin Buddha statue decorated with a mustache. The most precious ones are the inscriptions on several of the pedestals of the Buddha statues of Shiying Muni with year names such as "Zhiping" and "Xining" and the names of craftsmen such as "Shuidong Zhongyao Jia" and "Craftsman Zhou Ming".
