The growth of soybeans
The growth process of soybeans
Once I conducted an experiment on the "growth process of soybeans".
I first prepared a transparent plastic cup, soil, paper towels and soybean seeds. Then I laid paper towels around the cup and put more than half of the soil in the cup. Then, I placed a few seeds between the cup and the paper towel. Finally, I crushed the remaining small portion of the mud into a cup (the seeds were about a centimeter deep from the surface) and poured some water so that the paper towels were completely soaked. The seeds are now planted.
A few days passed. I came to the windowsill and observed the seeds. I noticed that there was some change in the color of the seeds. Originally, the color of the seeds was bright yellow, but over the past few days, the appearance of the seeds has become a little lighter, and they feel a little transparent. The seeds appear particularly plump, and the seed coat is also a little cracked.
Two more days passed. I came to the window sill again to observe the seeds. I looked into the cup. Surprisingly, the seeds sprouted. The outer shell of the seed cracked. Young shoots emerged from the inside. The color of the young shoots is light yellow, slightly green. The top of the bud is pointed and looks tender. This is the bud head. The bud heads are growing downward. A question came to my mind: Why do the buds of seeds grow downward? Wouldn’t it be possible to drill out of the ground? I was thinking as I watered it.
One day later, I came to the window again to observe the seeds. Observe through me. There is a big difference between the seeds now and when they germinate. When they sprouted, the shells of the seeds were only cracked, but now most of them have fallen off. I really want to help it peel off all its shells. The real small leaf buds in the seeds have moved away from their original positions and are closer to the outside. Two of them have drilled out of the soil. They were originally closed, but now they have unfolded, with a small bud in the middle. I also found that each bud has two leaves, which look fluffy and resemble the shape of a heart.
A few days later, when I came to the window sill again, there were many green bean sprouts in the cup. I also found that its leaves are two opposite.
Now we know why the newly grown buds of this seed grow downward. That's because what just grows is not a bud, but a root, so it has to grow downward.
When I came to the window sill again to observe, the soybean had turned from a seed into a bean sprout, and then slowly grown from a bean seedling... A soybean seedling was now beginning to twine. Anti-theft windows help you grow, and this soybean seedling is also the fastest growing one.
Although growing soybeans is small, it is a good start for me to experience plant growth.
Last summer, I planted a pepper seedling on my balcony, and soon it grew into a small pepper tree. She is very short and small, like a small open umbrella. I like this beautiful "little umbrella" very much. After some days, I found snow-white flowers blooming on the pepper tree, so I asked my mother anxiously: "Mom, Mom, what are the beautiful flowers on the pepper tree? They are only as big as a grain of rice." My mother said with a smile: "This is the white pepper flower!" I asked in surprise: "How do the little peppers grow?" My mother said with a smile: "It blooms first, then bears fruit, and then slowly grows up and passes through the sunlight. When exposed to light, the small peppers will get bigger and bigger, and the color will change from green to red. Then we can pick them. ”
Small peppers
I come back from school every day to see them. Take a look at the pepper tree and look forward to its changes. Suddenly one day, I found that the pepper tree had indeed grown green and thin fruits, with small white flowers on its head. After a few days, the fruit got a little bigger, and there were more and more small peppers around. They were right next to each other, very friendly. After many days, the little pepper grew as long as my little finger and looked very strong. I don’t know how many days passed, but the little pepper turned red, as red as a flame.
I exclaimed excitedly: "The peppers have turned red!" My mother was also attracted and said, "We can pick them and eat them." I hurriedly said: "No, they are so beautiful, just keep them."
As the days passed, all the green peppers turned red. What's even more surprising is that they actually survived this severe winter and are still so healthy and strong. Our whole family found it magical! It is so powerful, so brave, and so tenacious!
Bean Sprouts Growth Notes
My class is preparing to carry out planting activities recently. After unanimous discussion, we decided to start with planting soybeans. Firstly, such seeds are easy to collect, and secondly, soybeans are also easy to grow. Just do it, I decided to try it starting today.
I vaguely remember that I had a bag of soybeans at home. When I got home, I didn’t even have time to put down my schoolbag, so I rummaged through the boxes and cabinets to look for it. Close before my eyes, far away in the horizon, no, this big bag of soybeans was lying quietly behind the door. I opened the bag and couldn't wait to find the bean seeds I needed in the dazzling golden color. Don’t underestimate seed selection, it is also a skill! I heard from the teacher that when choosing, you must choose ones with full grains and bright colors. I opened my eyes wide and carefully picked through this big bag of golden beans, not daring to show any signs of neglect.
Selecting left and right, my eyes were full of golden beans. I finally selected this small handful of fine varieties from the vast sea of ??beans. Looking at the plump and round little soybeans in the palm of my hand, I couldn't help but say to myself: These are all treasures! I held this handful of beans carefully, for fear that something might happen to it!
After choosing the bean seed, you have to find a home for it! I heard from the teacher that soaking soybeans in water can shorten the germination time. At that time, I was skeptical. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, I decided to divide the bean seeds into two, just in case. I first found a glass filled with water according to the teacher's method, and then dropped a few soybeans along the edge of the glass. The small soybeans swayed towards the bottom of the glass, spitting out a string of small white bubbles from time to time, steadily. Settled at the bottom of the cup. Looking at these cute little babies, my heart is full of joy and expectation. I really hope to see the tender buds sprouting tomorrow.
With blessings and anticipation, I was busy giving another batch of beans a home. Select the land, plow the land, loosen the soil, plant seeds, and water, all in one go! Looking at this moist land where adzuki bean seeds are buried, my heart is full of expectations. This is a land that breeds hope. In the sunshine, I seem to see my adzuki bean seedlings growing in the wind!
