At that time, Xu Shouhui, a cloth dealer in Shangwubao (Tiantangzhai) in Dabie Mountain, used the "White Lotus Sect" to gather righteousness against Yuan Dynasty, supported millions of soldiers to establish the "Imperial Empire of China", killed "chickens" (meaning "auspicious") in Juyitang during wars or major festivals, lit a bonfire in military schools and cooked chickens in iron pots. After that, it was developed by Huangshan Hotel with great concentration, mainly local free-range chickens, with some wild vegetables and unique secret recipes to make delicious hanging pot chickens.
