History

Vicente was one of La Liga's best players, and in the eyes of many, his performance in the double-winning season was as good as that of Cristiano Ronaldo Junior. It was Vicente's presence that kept Arsenal's talented youngster Reyes out of the European Championships. He was one of the sharpest wingbacks in La Liga, with many long runs down the left side of the pitch followed by a shot or an assist. From an unknown player to one of La Liga's top attackers in four years, Vicente was as unassuming as he was when he moved to Valén in the summer of 2000, but soon found himself unable to reclaim a starting spot ahead of Vicente when regular left-winger Kiely missed a few matches recuperating from an injury.

Vicente was a youngster who played at all levels of the Spanish national team and made the qualifiers for the World Cup in South Korea and Japan at the age of 20, although he did not make Camacho's 2002 World Cup squad.
