Seafood should not be eaten with certain fruits. Fish and shrimp are rich in nutrients such as protein and calcium. If eaten with fruits containing more tannic acid, the nutritional value of protein will be reduced, and calcium in seafood will easily combine with tannic acid to form new indigestible substances. Fruits with more tannic acid include persimmon, grape pomegranate, hawthorn and olive.
Shrimp should not be eaten with vitamin C. Scientists have found that eating aquatic crustaceans such as shrimp and taking a large amount of vitamin C at the same time will cause death, because arsenic, which is usually considered harmless to human body, will be converted into toxic arsenic under the action of vitamin C.
