Recently, an authentic hot pot restaurant was investigated by Guangzhou Tianhe police for reusing waste grease. Currently, the owner and manager of the hot pot restaurant are under criminal detention by Tianhe police on suspicion of producing and selling harmful food, and the chef is arrested on suspicion of producing and selling harmful food.
Tianhe police received a report from the public, saying that there is a "×× authentic hot pot restaurant" on Changfu Road in Tianhe District that refines and uses the old oil soup base leftover by diners and serves it on the table again. After receiving the report, Tianhe police immediately set up a task force to investigate. After investigation, the police of the task force found that from June 2016 to March 2017, the hot pot restaurant extracted the leftover hot pot soup base from diners every week and added it to new soup base for reuse. And these carefully processed "old oils" are exactly the hot pot soup base provided to customers in this hot pot restaurant.
Based on the specific division of labor among the members of the hot pot restaurant, the task force found out the personnel structure of the hot pot restaurant, namely the owner Tan (male, 32 years old, from Qingyuan, Guangdong), the manager He (male, 26 years old) 20 years old, from Pingchang, Sichuan) and chef Huo Mou (male, 32 years old, from Chongqing). At about 22:00 on May 23, police from the task force arrested chef Huo at an Internet cafe in Wansheng District, Chongqing. At about 21:00 on July 6, another group of police officers divided into two groups and arrested the manager He and the boss Tan in a community in Tianhe District and Baiyun District, Guangzhou respectively.
After investigation, in June 2016, Tan, the owner of the hot pot restaurant, found Huo, a chef who could refine old oil, through the Internet, and hired Huo as the chef of the hot pot restaurant with a high salary. During the operation of the hot pot restaurant, the waiters will carry the soup base that the diners have eaten to the kitchen and pour it into the filter recycling bin according to the requirements of the owner Tan and the manager He. Late at night, chef Huo followed the boss's request and scooped the fat from the soup base that had filtered out the food residue into another bucket, placed it on the stove for boiling and refining, and mixed it with fresh butter before serving. Guests eat. According to Huo's account, "old oil" is refined once a week, about 20 kilograms each time.
Currently, Tan and He have been criminally detained by the Tianhe police in accordance with the law, and Huo has been arrested by the Tianhe police in accordance with the law. The case is still under further investigation.
