Legal analysis: All male citizens between the ages of 20 and 50 and female citizens between the ages of 20 and 45 who meet the conditions for donating blood shall fulfill the obligation to donate blood. Citizens who meet the conditions for blood donation should donate blood once every five years, or they may voluntarily donate blood several times. The amount of blood to be donated and the time between donations shall be in accordance with the regulations of the State Health Administrative Department.

Citizens who donate blood without compensation shall be issued vouchers for blood donation without compensation.

Citizens who are obliged to donate blood are entitled to public holidays on the day of blood donation and the following day.
