What is nutrient agar medium?
Nutrient agar medium is actually a non-selective lower nutrient solid medium, mainly used for bacterial colony counting, but also can be used for bacterial passaging and bacterial enrichment, but generally not used for bacterial identification (unless the bacterial colony has a more specific morphological characteristics). It is only suitable for the growth of bacteria with low nutritional requirements.

The formula is as follows:

Peptone 10g Beef Paste 3g Sodium Chloride 5g Agar 15-20g Distilled Water 1000mL

Autoclaved at 121℃ for 15min.

Can be used to add or subtract some of the ingredients according to the actual need.
