Two farewells

original work

Two farewell songs

one

13 years of good posture is light, living like a scepter in bud in early February.

In Yangzhou, the spring breeze blows all over Sanli Long Street. With beaded curtains, no one can match her beauty.

Secondly,

Affectionate, but always ruthless, don't laugh until you die.

The candle on the table lit the heart, and it also saw the parting; You see, it shed tears for us and flowed to the morning.

Vernacular translation

one

Good posture, light manners, has been the thirteenth year, just like the beancurd in early February.

Looking at the little beauty of Shili Long Street in Yangzhou City, rolling up the bead curtain to sell makeup can't compare with her.

Secondly,

Being together is like being heartless. I just feel that I have to laugh at the banquet, but I can't make any noise.

The candle on the table will even say goodbye if it is intentional. Look, it will cry for us until dawn.

Creation background

These two poems were written by Du Fu, a poet, who was promoted from the secretariat of Huainan to the supervisory suggestion in the ninth year of Daiwa (835). He left Yangzhou for Chang 'an and was separated from the geisha he met in Yangzhou.
