The author of "Two Songs of Liangzhou - One" is Wang Zhilu?
The Yellow River is far away from the white clouds, and a lonely city is ten thousand ren mountains.
The Qiang flute has no need to complain about the willow, and the spring breeze does not pass through the Jade Gate.
Interpretation:
The Yellow River seems to be running from between the white clouds, and the Jade Gate Pass towers alone among the high mountains.
Why bother to play the mournful "Willow Song" with a Qiang flute to complain about the late arrival of the spring light, when the spring breeze can't blow beyond the Yumen Pass at all?
Expanded InformationBackground of Composition:
According to the epitaph of Wang Zhilu, it can be seen that Wang Zhilu resigned from his official post in the 14th year of the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (726), and lived a free life for fifteen years. The "Two Songs of Liangzhou" was written during the fifteen years of his resignation, that is, between 727 and 741, the fifteenth year of his reign.
Reflecting the relationship between the Tang Dynasty and the foreigners in the north, the poem is about a leader of the Hu people in the north who came to the Tang Dynasty to ask for peace but failed to do so, and through the description of his actions and psychology, it emphasizes the strength of the Tang Dynasty from the side.
