Yang Pu's ancient poem about the Chinese Valentine's Day is as follows:

During the Chinese Valentine's Day in the Song Dynasty, Yang Pu didn't know what he wanted to do with the cow, so he had to invite the Weaver Girl to play with the golden shuttle. I beg for cleverness in the world every year, but I don’t know that there are already many cleverness in the world.

Introduction to Yang Pu:

Living in Dongli, Xinzheng (in the old city of Zhenghan), he was studious, good at poetry, quiet and solitary by nature, unwilling to be an official, and lived in seclusion in the countryside all his life. He often rides bulls alone to enjoy sightseeing, traveling between Dongli and Guodian in the county. When he saw a secluded place with lush grass and dense forests, he would lie down in the grass and think hard. Whenever he came up with a wonderful sentence, he would immediately write a poem. I once entered the dangerous place of Songshan Mountain alone with my walking stick, and wrote more than 100 articles.

Experience:

The scholars and students at that time often read and recited his poems. When he was young, he was friendly with classmates Bi Shi'an and Han Pi. Later, Bi Shian held an official position and recommended Yang Pu to Taizong. Taizong loved his talent and wanted to appoint him as an official, but Pu Jian refused and wrote "Gui Geng Fu" to clarify his ambition. Taizong gave him a bundle of silk to help him return home. When Zhenzong traveled west to pay homage to the tombs of his late emperor, he passed through Zhengzhou. He sent a special envoy to present him with tea and silk, and ordered his son Congmiao to become an official.

Pu's poems are elegant and unrestrained, with simple and concise language. They mostly describe natural scenery and rural life in seclusion. Similar to Tang poets Jia Dao and Li She. He died at the age of 82 and was buried in the east of Yuanbao Village, 20 kilometers north of the county. Li Shu, a bachelor of Hanlin in the Song Dynasty, wrote a tomb list and placed it in front of the stone tomb. The poet Huang Tingjian visited his tomb and wrote poems in memory.
